AR-C spools are famous for having a large diameter and this comes into full play when you activate the front drag, with increased effect at lighter settings. Aero Wrap II ensures you get superb line lay each time, even when you’re using a heavier monofilament line. Like many of Shimano mid range reels the Aero is manufactured from XT-7. XT-7 is Shimano’s go to carbon composite construction material as it offers a lightweight, durable, and robust alternative to metals. The spool is constructed from cold forged aluminium, as is the spare spool which comes supplied as standard. This reel has been built to last as long as you do on the bank and features three S-A-RB bearings as well as one standard roller bearing. These work to reduce friction on the reel, extending its lifespan, as well as ensuring this reel performs smoothly when you need it most.
