It involves fishing for predators such as royal perch, sandra and pike, vertically, in direct contact with the seabed with shad, grub and metal spoon. A great sensitivity and a ready strike is therefore required, as well as a length that is not excessive for greater maneuverability of the rod, given the verticality of the line. Given the characteristics of this technique, the number one baits for this specialty are rubber baits, mounted on Texas rigs or on jigheads, together with the "heavy" drop shot. Even large spoons or metal jigs presented vertically sometimes make the difference, due to the extreme precision of this type of presentation. Braided line is the best choice for its great sensitivity, combined with generous fluorocarbon leaders.
