Mechanical Stabilization System (MSS)
The mechanical stabilization system for spinning reel is a new Okuma exclusive technical design, the carbon plates increase stability and help eliminate vibrations, integrally the MSS makes the reel highly functional mechanically.
Dual force drag system
DFD incorporates both spool surfaces to maximize drag pressure and efficiency. Mounted at the top of the spool and protected by the Hydro Block system is the multi-disc felt drag which works in conjunction with the secondary drag, mounted underneath the spool. Uniform pressure is applied to both coil surfaces for maximum stability and significantly greater drag production than traditional single drag systems.
Knurled spool design
The knurled band on the spool shaft increases friction and provides a locking point for the braid and eliminates slippage.
AlumiLite Construction (ALC)
Die-cast aluminum rigid body, sideplate and rotor: AlumiLite Construction. These lightweight die-cast aluminum frames offer finer tolerances for precision gear alignment, maximum stability and maximum durability.
Aluminum material with strong anti-corrosion function
50% stronger corrosion resistance than general material on the market.
High Performance Bearing (HPB)
6 high-performance ball bearings provide the Okuma Azores reel with exceptional smoothness and reliability in saltwater spinning fishing. The balls used on HPBs are constructed of the same high-quality stainless steel material as the bearing housing.
Machine cut aluminum handle. The machine-cut rigid aluminum crank increases power and starting performance. The ergonomic oval knob provides comfort for all fishing conditions.
Oversized main shaft
A thicker main shaft and strong metal bushing can withstand 3 times more axial impact pressure than traditional models.
Double anti-reverse system
Okuma Azores spinning reels feature Okuma's proven Quick Set anti-reverse system and a backup multi-stop anti-reverse system for increased durability and reliability in all fishing conditions.
Pinion supported with 2 ball bearings
An extra bearing supports the pinion for better gearing and smooth power transfer under heavy pressure.
