The Shimano Alivio Surf rod is Shimano's entry-level surf casting rod that boasts excellent value for money.The comfortable design of this three-piece surf rod and XT30 carbon construction give it fast action and can handle the largest surf casting leads. The Alivio Surf is Shimano's cheapest surf casting rod, but it can handle leads up to 225 g (8 oz) and will give you the confidence to cast really long, especially when using a simple overhead casting action. For excellent bite detection, especially when fishing at night, the tip features a white section for increased visibility when illuminated by a head flashlight.
