The new Shimano fluorocarbon line OCEA LEADER EX FLUORO offers a series of advantages for the most demanding anglers who fish where they often find themselves in difficult conditions. It is a fluorocarbon line for terminals which is thinner than traditional fluorocarbon but equivalent in terms of breaking strength, highly resistant to abrasion, it does not absorb water so it sinks quickly, it is light in color and has its refractive index quite close to that of water. it is therefore less visible to fish. The construction of the Ocea leader is also very different in that it features a soft fluorine core to provide knot strength, a hard outer shell for abrasion resistance, and a fluorine coating on this to provide a smooth surface.
