Turkey feathers are an excellent substitute for the condor feather in the fly tying. Its fibres are used for the construction of the bodies of dry flies, submerged flies and for nymphs. One of the special features of turkey feathers is that when the fibres of these feathers are wrapped, they create a natural colouration and rigidity. Also due to the down property, turkey feathers are used for the construction of wings for dry flies and submerged flies.
