JMC Deer Ears for the construction of fishing flies. JMC deer ears have many possible applications for creating highly effective dry and emergent flies. Available in a wide range of colours, this natural material is ideal for creating original flies throughout the season. Deer ear hair is fine and silky and its buoyancy is ideal for creating wings or dubbing. Like hare's ear, this natural material can be used to make flies entirely from deer hair (from the hoop to the wings, including the abdomen and thorax). The ear allows a choice of different hair shades and offers the possibility of making 'mixed' or simple flies that respect the colours of natural insects. Given the characteristics of deer hair, flies derived from deer ear float very well and can be used to fish both in current and in very slow-moving streams.
